Monitored variants

Enhanced plan

The Variants tab on a rule is where you decide which products it watches and where you give individual variants their own trigger values. Its heading changes with the rule’s monitoring scope: Monitored Variants when the rule watches only specific variants, Variant-Specific Triggers when it watches everything and you’re only adding exceptions.

The variants table

Column	What it shows
Product / Variant	The product and variant name.
SKU	The variant’s SKU, or a dash.
Locations	All locations, or the specific location this row applies to.
Triggers	Using default triggers, or the values that override them. Rows with overrides get a Custom badge.
Status	Whether this row is actively monitored.
Actions	Edit or remove the row.

Use the search box to find a variant in a long list, and the checkboxes plus Configure Selected to apply one set of triggers to many variants at once.

Three ways to add variants

The Add variants button opens a short menu:

• Search products — the familiar product picker. Search your catalog and tick the variants you want.
• Scan barcode — opens “Scan variants to monitor”. Scan a barcode or SKU with a hand scanner or your device camera (or type one), and each match is added to the rule. Quantities are ignored — this is a picking aid, not a count. Variants added this way inherit the rule’s default triggers.
• Upload CSV/XLSX — bulk-load a whole list from a spreadsheet, complete with per-variant trigger values. See below.

Note

Scan barcode and Upload CSV/XLSX are the fast paths when your thresholds already live in a spreadsheet or on a shelf label. The product picker is best for a handful of items.

Per-variant trigger overrides

Adding variants opens Configure Triggers for N Variant(s), where you set the trigger values that apply to just those variants — Days from Reorder Point, Stock Threshold, and Stock-Out Alert, plus the four variant constants on a per-location rule. Leave everything off and the variants simply follow the rule’s defaults.

Use the pencil icon on a row to open Edit Triggers and adjust one variant later. On a per-location rule that dialog also has a Location field: leave it on All locations for a row that governs everywhere, or pick a location to add a second, location-specific row. Where both exist, the location-specific row wins for that location and the all-locations row covers the rest.

Uploading a spreadsheet

Add variants → Upload CSV/XLSX opens Import variants from CSV/XLSX. It’s the same upload flow used everywhere else in Logistified: download the template, fill it in, upload, map your columns, review, import.

1. Download the template from the upload step and fill it in — or upload your own file and map the columns yourself.
2. Upload the CSV or XLSX.
3. Check the mapping. Logistified matches your column headers automatically; Change mapping lets you correct it.
4. Review variants to import. Every row is matched against your catalog by SKU or Variant ID and labelled Rows saved, Changed, Unchanged, Rows removed, or Skipped. Rows that don’t match anything are flagged as errors, and the import is blocked until you fix or remove them.
5. Decide merge or replace. By default the file is merged into the rule’s current list. Tick Replace existing list and any variant on the rule that isn’t in your file is removed.
6. Click Import.

The buttons on the review step run Change mapping → Upload a different file → Import, left to right.

The template columns

Column	What to put in it
SKU	The variant’s SKU. Use either SKU or Variant ID per row.
Variant ID	The Shopify variant ID. Wins over SKU when both are filled in.
Location ID	Optional. Blank means the row applies to every location.
Location name	Used when Location ID is empty. Must match exactly one of your locations.
Import action	UPDATE (or blank) saves the row; DELETE removes it from this rule.
Enabled	Blank or TRUE monitors the variant; FALSE keeps the row but mutes it.
Stock-out alert	Alert when stock reaches 0. Leave every trigger column blank to inherit the rule’s triggers.
Stock threshold	Alert when stock falls to this many units. Blank switches the trigger off.
Days before reorder point	Alert this many days before the reorder point. Blank switches it off. Needs a Forecast view on the rule.
Below minimum inventory Below reorder point Below target inventory Above maximum inventory	The four variant-constant triggers. Per-location rules only — they’re ignored on a global rule, and the review step tells you so.

Caution

Imported rows are written to the rule immediately. Any other unsaved changes on the page still need Save.

Downloading the current list

Download current list exports the rule’s saved variants as CSV or XLSX, in exactly the same columns as the import template. That makes it a round trip: download, edit the thresholds in your spreadsheet, upload the same file back.

It’s also the quickest way to audit a big rule, or to copy a tuned variant list from one rule into another.
