Stock on hand with Assemblified

When your store is connected to Assemblified, the Stock on hand report values the items Assemblified builds, not just the products Shopify tracks. This page explains the extra columns, how bills of materials are counted, and the note you’ll see on exports.

  • What changes on the report
  • Extra columns
  • How the data is kept current
  • The “as of” note on exports
  • Sub-assemblies on documents

For a bill of materials (BOM) that Assemblified tracks, the report counts what is actually on the shelf rather than the capacity figure Shopify publishes. On hand, On hand cost and On hand retail therefore reflect real built stock. If you’re not connected to Assemblified, nothing changes: the report behaves as before and never contacts Assemblified. Logistified treats your store as connected once Assemblified has sent it anything: a virtual material, a sub-assembly or an order.

ColumnWhat it shows
Item kindWhether the row is a Shopify product, a virtual material, a sub-assembly, or a bill of materials.
Published quantityThe available number Shopify shows for a bill of materials.
Labour costLabour cost per unit, from Assemblified.
On hand labour valueOn hand × labour cost.
On hand value with labourOn hand × (cost + labour).
On hand total valueOn hand × (cost + labour + overhead).
In productionWork in progress. It is kept separate and never counted as on hand. Blank when grouped by location (it has no location).
Awaiting quality checkBuilt units waiting on a quality check. Blank when grouped by location.
Cost sourceWhether the unit cost came from Assemblified or from your chosen cost basis.
Cost methodFor a sub-assembly, the cost method set on it in Assemblified: recipe, built, purchased or moving average (other for a method this version of Logistified does not know yet; its costs are still Assemblified’s). Blank otherwise.

These columns are offered in the column picker only when your store is connected to Assemblified. Without Assemblified data the labour columns are blank and the with-labour and total values equal the on hand cost.

With Assemblified data, the cost columns and the Total cost tile say which cost they use, for example Current cost (Assemblified cost; else Shopify cost): Assemblified’s cost for the items it tracks, your chosen cost basis for everything else.

The report fetches fresh figures from Assemblified when you run it and reuses them for a few minutes. If Assemblified can’t be reached, the report falls back to the last data it received; if that is more than 24 hours old, bills of materials show Shopify quantities and costs instead. The dashboard’s inventory value counts built bills at their shelf quantity and the same unit cost too, and its missing-cost count only lists items it actually valued at zero.

The report shows when the Assemblified data was captured (for example “Assemblified data as of 2026-10-15 11:00 UTC.”), including whether the last known data was used. The PDF export prints the same note under its title, and a scheduled Stock on hand email says it in the email text. CSV and spreadsheet files stay plain tables with no extra line, so anything that imports them keeps working.

Sub-assembly items (SKUs starting with ASM-) can be purchased, transferred, returned, released and counted like any item. Every stock change a document makes is sent to Assemblified, and the quantity in this report follows when Assemblified confirms it. A sub-assembly’s unit cost comes from Assemblified, which costs it with the cost method set on the sub-assembly (its recipe, its last build, the purchase cost Logistified sends for each purchase order (one price per sub-assembly and order, from the received units), or a moving average of built and bought units), so the report shows Assemblified’s cost for it. See Sub-assemblies from Assemblified.
