Plans at several locations
Sales Plans and New Product Planning plan every product at every location of the plan. One plan covers all your stores, and each store gets its own numbers from its own sales. This page covers how that works and how to change a plan’s locations later.
New Product Planning comes with the Enhanced plan. Sales Plans need Elevate. See Plan requirements.

One plan, many locations
Section titled “One plan, many locations”When a plan has several locations, each product is planned once per location:
- Sales Plans: each product’s target at a location is seeded from that location’s sales last year, at the product’s growth.
- New Product Planning: each product’s launch curve at a location is built from the similar products’ sales at that location, and each location has its own similar products, Volume × and launch date. The plan’s locations are its launch locations.
Sales at other locations are never copied over. A location where the products (or, for a launch plan, the similar products) never sold starts at 0, and the plan tells you so.
Inventory Commitments work differently: each item has its own location, or none. See Items, dates & probability.
Choosing locations when you create a plan
Section titled “Choosing locations when you create a plan”Both create dialogs ask for locations:
- All locations (ticked by default on a sales plan) plans at every active location you have when you create the plan.
- Untick it to pick locations from the list.
The dialog counts the rows the plan will have, for example “12 products × 3 locations = 36 plan rows”. A plan can hold a limited number of rows, and the dialog warns you before you reach it; split a large range into two plans. See Creating a sales plan and Creating a launch plan.
The location switcher
Section titled “The location switcher”On a plan with more than one location, a switcher sits next to the tabs. A plan with one location has no switcher.
| Plan type | Whole-plan option | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Sales Plans | All locations | Products, Plan, Analytics |
| New Product Planning | All locations (summary) | Plan, Analytics |
The plan opens on the whole-plan option. Each location in the list shows its planned units, and a location with nothing planned is highlighted. Documents and Activity always cover the whole plan.
What you see:
- At one location, the tabs show only that location: its products, its targets or curves, and its sales.
- On All locations, each product is one row that adds up its locations. A sales plan’s Products tab adds a Locations column, for example 3 of 3. On the Analytics tab, the share card compares the locations; see Plan analytics.
Editing on All locations
Section titled “Editing on All locations”You can edit the whole-plan view of both plan types. A number you type there is split across the locations in proportion to what each one plans for that period. If nothing was planned there yet, a sales plan splits by each location’s total for the product, and a launch plan splits evenly. The locations always add up to exactly what you typed.
Sales Plans. On All locations you can edit every cell of the plan grid, and on the Products tab the Target units, Target revenue and Growth. Growth applies to the product at every location; when the locations have different growth, the field reads Mixed. Removing a product there removes it at every location, after a confirmation.
New Product Planning. On All locations (summary) you can edit the period totals in the Week grid. Everything else is per location: similar products, Volume ×, the launch date and size-group settings can’t be opened on the summary. The summary says so: “Pick a location to change its similar products and settings.” See Similar products & the launch curve and Size groups.
To change one location only, pick it in the switcher first.
Add location
Section titled “Add location”Add a store to a running plan with Actions › Add location…. The menu item is there while the plan is Draft or Confirmed and has products.
- Sales Plans: every product of the plan is added at the new location, with targets seeded from that location’s own sales last year at each product’s growth. A product with different growth at different locations starts at 0% there, and Logistified tells you which.
- New Product Planning (the dialog is called Add launch location): every product and size group is copied to the new location, and each curve is rebuilt from that location’s own sales history. Curves you edited by hand aren’t copied. A product without similar products keeps the curve of the location it was copied from, and Logistified tells you which.
A product you deleted in Shopify isn’t copied to the new location.
Pick the location and click Add location. Logistified confirms, for example “Munich added: 40 products added there” on a sales plan, or “Munich added: 40 products, 2 size groups” on a launch plan.
The item is greyed out with “Every active location is already part of this plan” when there’s nothing left to add.
Remove location
Section titled “Remove location”Actions › Remove location… takes a location off the plan:
- Pick the location. The dialog shows how many rows it has there, then click Continue.
- Confirm with Remove location.
What’s removed:
- Sales Plans: the location’s targets, including hand edits and revenue you typed.
- New Product Planning: the location’s products and size groups. Their planned demand leaves the forecast at that location.
This can’t be undone. Adding the location back later starts it fresh from last year’s sales or the similar products.
A plan must keep at least one location. With one left, the item is greyed out: “A plan must keep at least one location” on a sales plan, “A plan must keep at least one launch location” on a launch plan. To stop planning altogether, cancel or delete the plan.
Removing a location from an All locations plan. A plan created with All locations follows your locations. Once you remove one, it becomes a fixed set of locations and stops offering new ones. The dialog warns you before you confirm.
New locations since the plan was created
Section titled “New locations since the plan was created”A plan created with All locations doesn’t add new stores by itself. When you add a location in Shopify later, the plan shows a notice, for example “1 new location since this plan was created.”, with the location’s name and a Sync locations button.
Sync locations adds every product there, the same way as Add location, and also skips products you deleted in Shopify. Logistified confirms, for example “1 location added: Munich (40 products)”.
The notice appears only on plans created with All locations that are Draft or Confirmed. On a plan with picked locations, use Add location… instead.
Add missing products
Section titled “Add missing products”When you remove a product at one location, it stays in the plan at its other locations. To plan it at that location again, pick the location in the switcher and use Actions › Add missing products…. The menu item only appears when that location is missing products the plan has elsewhere. A product you deleted in Shopify is never added back; the message names it.
Adding products to a plan describes it step by step.
Location notices
Section titled “Location notices”Notices about the plan’s locations sit in one folded row, Location notices, at the top of a sales plan’s Products tab and a launch plan’s Plan tab. It counts what’s inside, for example 1 info or 2 warnings. Click it to read them:
- New locations to sync (see above).
- Nothing planned: a location reads 0, with the reason. On a sales plan, for example, “No sales there last year, so growth has no effect. Type target units here or on the Plan tab.” On All locations, each location’s name is a link that switches to it.
With no notices, the row isn’t shown.
Walkthrough: add a new store to a running plan
Section titled “Walkthrough: add a new store to a running plan”-
Open the plan. It must be Draft or Confirmed; a Locked plan needs Release first.
-
If the plan was created with All locations, open Location notices at the top of the tab and click Sync locations. Skip to the last step.
-
Otherwise, open Actions and choose Add location….
-
Pick the new store and click Add location. Every product of the plan is added there.
-
Pick the store in the location switcher and check its numbers. A new store has no sales of its own, so its targets (or curves) may start at 0. Type them in the plan grid or Week grid, and save.
