Materials from Assemblified

If your store uses Assemblified, some of the products you transfer have a recipe (a Bill of Materials). When a transfer takes more of such a product than Assemblified has pre-assembled at the origin location, Assemblified builds the missing units when you send the transfer, and uses up their raw materials and sub-assemblies at the origin location.

The transfer order shows this before you send: per line, how many units come from the pre-assembled stock and how many will be built, and for the whole transfer, the list of materials that will be used. You can print the same list on the transfer order PDF.

The Assemblified app connected to your shop. Install it from the Shopify App Store; Logistified detects the connection on its own, and there’s nothing to configure. It works on every plan.

Without Assemblified, you see nothing new on your transfer orders unless you add the columns below yourself. They then say that Assemblified isn’t connected, with a link to open it.

Open Columns above a transfer order’s line items and add any of the three columns in the Manufacturing (Assemblified) group. Like every other column, you can save them in a view.

ColumnWhat it shows
Pre-assembled at sourceUnits of the product already assembled at the origin location, as this line finds them after the transfer’s earlier lines. Sending takes from this stock first.
Built from componentsUnits Assemblified will build from components when you send: the part of the line the pre-assembled stock doesn’t cover. Instead of a number it can read Disabled here, No recipe, Conflict in recipe or Can’t build here; hover for what to check in Assemblified.
ComponentsHow many components that build uses. Hover for each component with its quantity and, when it isn’t the origin location, where it’s taken from, plus the sub-assemblies taken from their pre-assembled stock.

A line for a product Assemblified doesn’t assemble shows a dash; hover it for the reason. Once a line has been sent, Built from components reads Sent, and while it’s on its way to Assemblified it reads Being sent to Assemblified. The page checks again by itself until Assemblified confirms.

Under the line items, the Materials (Estimated) card adds up every line into one pick list. Click its header to open it. Each row shows the item, its SKU, the quantity, the unit, the location when it isn’t the origin location, and the finished products it’s used for. Sub-assemblies taken from their pre-assembled stock are labelled Sub-assembly (pre-assembled), and Assemblified’s virtual materials are labelled Virtual.

The card only appears when there’s something to list. A transfer whose lines are all covered by pre-assembled stock, or that has nothing left to send, shows no card.

The transfer order PDF lists the same materials in a Materials (estimated) section after the totals, so you can print it as a pick list or attach it before you send. The PDF attached to the destination-location email includes it too.

To leave it off, switch off Materials from Assemblified in your PDF template at Settings → Transfer Orders → Export. It’s on by default.

If Assemblified doesn’t answer within a few seconds, the PDF is still created: it says Materials list unavailable — Assemblified did not answer instead of the list. A shop without Assemblified never gets the section.

It’s an estimate, for quantity not yet sent

Section titled “It’s an estimate, for quantity not yet sent”
  • Only quantity not yet sent is estimated. For a draft, that’s the whole planned quantity. Once a transfer is sent, quantity already sent reads Sent and isn’t listed again; the estimate covers only what’s still to send. Received, completed and cancelled transfers show no materials.
  • Quantities are what Assemblified will take from stock, in whole units for regular items. Hover a quantity for the exact requirement. Virtual materials show their exact quantity.
  • A quantity marked ≈ is a component Assemblified itself recomputes and that is used in fractions. Its whole-unit figure can turn out different, so the exact requirement is shown instead.
  • Up to 500 lines per transfer. A larger transfer says it has too many lines to estimate.

If Assemblified doesn’t answer, the columns show a dash with Retry. If you’ve already seen materials on this page, the card keeps showing the last estimate, says it couldn’t refresh, and offers Retry too. Nothing else on the page is affected.
